Chin Chin!

The mentalis muscle is a pair of strap-like muscles that extend from the lower lip to the tip of your chin. When it contracts, it pulls up and causes you to pout. In some people there is a pronounced puckering, known as ‘peau d’orange’ (skin of an orange) which can get more noticeable with age.

Botulinum Toxin can be injected to relax the muscle, resulting in a smoother chin. It can also be effective in relaxing a ‘bunched chin’ which can lack projection. This can therefore improve the profile of the face.

The process is very quick and usually involves two injections (possibly more depending on individual muscle size) with a very fine needle. It can be done alongside upper face anti wrinkle injections, or as a separate treatment.

Dermal filler can also have beautiful results for projecting the chin and balancing the profile- I will do a post on that at a later date- so if you would like a consultation then please get chin touch!
